Music by the Bay 2025

What do you get when you mix perfect Spring sunshine, live tunes, raffle
prizes, and a whole lot of community spirit? Music by the Bay 2025, of course! Held at our very own Double Bay Beach, the event was every bit amazing, with clear skies and the bay sparkling, the KIRA community turned out in force to picnic, dance, and celebrate everything that makes Kawana Island such a special place to live.
A massive thank you to everyone who came along – your energy, smiles, and support made the day truly unforgettable. As a fully volunteer-run event, it’s one that takes nearly a year to plan, and we were thrilled to see all the hard work come to life in such a joyful way.

Our raffle was a standout success, raising over $1,500 for KIRA’s ongoing community initiatives around the island. A huge shoutout to our generous local prize
donors – including Nautilus Acupuncture and Wisdom Within, who tempted us with dance-floorworthy prizes of wellness and relaxation. After those dance
moves, a little body-mind ,connection might be just what the doctor ordered!

Easter Hop 2025

On Monday 21 April KIRA were proud to host our first “KIRA KIDS” event of the
year! Our Easter Hop involved a range of activities such as cake decorating, arts and crafts and of course an easter hunt with lots of treats involved.

Senior Social 2025

KIRA’s Inaugural Seniors Event – Blast from the Past! Our very first seniors' event, Blast from the Past: Sixties Quiz, was a huge success! We had a fantastic turnout,
with plenty of singing, dancing, and laughter. Guests enjoyed delicious food and refreshments from Vrina, and it was a wonderful opportunity to connect with
new people and socialize. A big thank-you to everyone who joined us – we hope to see you at the next event!

Music by the Bay 2024

Music by the Bay 2024 was designed to be a fun-filled day for the entire family, and it was heart-warming to see so many families enjoying the music and activities together. Whether you were tapping your feet, dancing, or just soaking in the atmosphere, it was clear that the power of music brought everyone closer.
Thanks to your generous support, we raised over $330 for important community initiatives, like the Fence Improvement Initiative. Your participation is helping us keep the rhythm of progress going for our Island. We also want to send a special shout-out to our incredible sponsors and partners who helped make this event possible:

  • Major Grants initiative at Sunshine Coast Council
  • Division 4 Councilor Joe Natoli
  • Sunny Ray’s Burgers
  • Something Sweet Gelato
  • Be Amazed entertainment (for the amazing face painting)
  • Kawana Surf Club (for first aid support)
